In 2008, The New Cultivation emerged, in which you analyze plant behaviour based on three balances: the water balance, the energy balance and the assimilate balance.

The greenhouse climate is dissected accordingly based on energy balance and moisture balance in the greenhouse. Then external factors such as weather and periods of day and night are included. These analyses form the basis for principles of an energy-efficient approach with an optimal growth climate for the plant. Using these analyses, Cogas Climate Control ensures the best greenhouse climate.

Combination of insulation and air treatment

From a cost perspective, it is smart to keep windows and screens closed for as long as possible to keep the heat in. On the other hand, a lack of fresh air creates a dead climate.

Air treatment is a solution that can cleverly reduce high humidity in the greenhouse. The combination of good insulation and air treatment techniques provides huge savings on your energy costs. One of these smart techniques is Air & Energy, developed by our sister company Maurice Kassenbouw. This extracts the humid air from the greenhouse, allowing cultivation with closed vents and multiple closed screens.

The advantages of good air treatment

Good air treatment ensures a homogeneous greenhouse climate, allowing the entire crop to grow at the same pace and remain healthy. In addition, the air is kept in motion and air treatment plays a major role in dehumidification, preventing fungi, among other things.

We always look for a solution that suits the crop and the technology already in place. We can work with (vertical) fans, a heat exchanger, post-heating and air hoses. You can also determine your screen strategy by measuring solar radiation from outside and heat radiation from inside.

Our service department owns a range of measuring equipment to measure air capacities and air movements. This often gives a completely different view of an air problem. Maintenance of the various systems is in safe hands with us.
